Garlic Zoom
I just treated myself to this nifty little gadget. I used to chop garlic and squash it with salt using the back of a knife but it made my fingers and the plastic board smell something terrible. Then I got a crusher but cleaning it was a real *. I tried to put it in the dishwasher but it didn’t do the job and as for poking something into each individual hole – well, I don’t think so. Then I found ready chopped frozen garlic which certainly was an improvement until now … drumroll please … for the “Garlic Zoom” – wow. I can now mince fresh garlic easily.
Description: You simply open the top, pop in a small to medium peeled clove and push the Zoom backwards and forwards on your worktop. The more you roll, the finer the garlic. Next, open the lid, give it a tap and watch in wonder (well, sort of) as the itty bitty garlic bits fall out. Genius!
And it is that simple. It’s well made and practical and will help you mince garlic for years to come. Don’t be too impatient though – if you put too much in, it will jam. To wash, just rinse it under the tap. It is dishwasher safe but the pieces do seem to catch and fill up with bits and liquid from the cleaning cycle. Try chopping chilli with it too! And all for £7.95 – a bargain I think. Get yours NOW at Firebox and then give it a try with this great recipe for garlic mushrooms.
